Cedric Benson What looked to be an early bust turned out to be a very good player. I'm just throwing this out there for all the people writing Ingram off as a bust.

but we still had to use a pick to select him. the 2nd was just to move up i mean we can pretend we didn't trade up and picked him with a late 1st, and we'd still have used a 1st on him even then there would be similar discussions

i was upset with the ingram pick when i thought he'd get 800+ yards last year i'm not saying he's going to be a bust. the argument against the trade up/early RB selection is strengthened by his so-so first year, though. it makes the argument against the trade up/early RB pick easier for sure

anybody think he'll top 1k yards (from scrimmage) this year?
no

what do you think his peak yardage in a season will be (est.)?
he probably has one 100 yd game

do you still think a 1st and 2nd were worth it?
I didn't think he was worth a 1st and 2nd last year. Unless you know for a fact that you're getting AP then it's not worth it.

I still maintain we got him for a 2nd. I'm pretty positive our first this year wouldve been snatched up by Goodell. To be fair we have to give him one more year (at least). Its a pretty difficult offense to just plug him in and out. It was obvious that he was going to run everytime we put him in. The guy has the work ethic and desire to be great. let him get healthy and let's see what happens. I honestly think that measuring his total yards is not the most accurate way of determining his value. I'm more concerned about his YPC, and ability to get tough yards for us.

Yes, I think the same. Had we not used our 2012 1st round pick last year, Goodell would have taken this from us. Now, regarding Ingram, I noticed during the season that he didn't look the same as he did at Bama. The muscle definition in his arms appeared reduced compared to when he played in college. Now, I have to ask, could the use of roids and HGH be tolerated more in college ball? I could be completely wrong on my observation.
