Yall are thinking of just how much wave height is produced.
because that is what ppl bitch about bc that's what causes damage
THAT Plus a MILLION.
I don't care if you are violently stirring the water. I care about how tall that wake you are about to hit me with is. That's it. That's what does the damage.

exactly, chine walking...and that's when you have to learn to "drive" it

I don't know what this means, but I think there is more to it.
quote:
hydrostatic naval architecture is not applicable to the planning hull...The fundamental hydraulic laws upon which standard naval architecture proceedures are based simply do not apply to a hull skimmimg the surface

yea, and that's what separates the reckless people from the ones who know what they're doing

Hydrostatics deals with the forces exerted on the hull by the water. The stresses on a structure submerged in water are much different than those exerted on something skipping across the surface.
We're doing hydrodynamics, which deals with the way the fluid acts when it encounters a solid surface with a relative velocity.

Don't know about all that but I do know that if you are throwing a wake at my boat that's two feet tall, it's MUCH worse than if you are throwing a wake that's 2 inches.
No matter how fast it's going.

Well yea.
I'm just being a nerd bastard today. The wake is larger arse you speed up. The heigh of the wave is not when its made by a planing hull.
