my 6 year old desktop i was using as a home server finally crapped out. pretty positive its a mobo problem. i was looking to get a new desktop and/or NAS in the next year anyway but until then i need to get my data off of a couple of RAID drives. whats the best way to do this? all i have is a laptop. if need be i can go plug em into my dads pc but it'll be a pain in the arse.
also, i was backing up these drives to an external usb drive using windows home server. it wont let me access the external drive from my laptop. if i can restore from the external it may be easier?
any help here would be appreciated

Hardware of software RAID? What RAID topography?
What does it say when you try to access the USB drive?
