I hate to ruin the fantasy all of you having going on in your heads but there is never going to be this huge collapse you all are dreaming about.

"I hate to ruin the fantasy all of you having going on in your heads but there is never going to be this huge collapse you all are dreaming about", he said, as he attempted to sell his shares in Lehman Brothers Stock.

You might be right. Unfortunately, however, it will only take relatively minor collapse for the bulk of American society to descend into utter chaos. Baton Rouge may never become Bosnia...but it sure as hell could degrade, along with every other major population center, into something similar to the worst area of Detroit. And it wouldnt take all that much to do it.

You guys just don't get it. The elite are NEVER going to let that happen. Right now they have all of us working as their slaves....why would they allow everything to collapse? They would lose all of their power and workforce. They will keep dangling a carrot in front of us to get us to keep working. We will have ups and downs so we think we are making progress but in the end we will always be working for them. There will be no collapse here.

Watch the link. You'll find that this (your statement) is the point.

Ever heard of the infamous Great Depression? IF our country does fall into another 'great depression', it's going to be 10 times worse than it was back in then. My grandparents came up during that time. They were very resourceful people, I was amazed at their knowledge. I learned a lot of things from them like canning food, raising a garden & hunting, bring up chickens & other livestock, plus many other living skills. Most people don't even know how to raise a basic garden or even how to purify drinking water. Even the average middle-class suburbanite has maybe 1 week of food stored. If we had a breakdown like the GD, lots of people would strugggle, many would die and kill each other off. Now think of the millions of people in our country that rely on a gubmint check just for the basic neccesities of life. Once that is cut off, what are they going to do?

There will be no huge collapse....they won't let it happen.

Your mistake is thinking that they have it all under control. ETA: Every ruling class tries to maintains power...yet none have succeeded in the long-term. Power comes and goes, as do empire and civilizations. To think we are exempt from the ebbs and flows of history is naive.

The 'ruling class' keeping everything in running order, apparently.

You see the similar bubbles and collapses thought history but with the "ruling class" controlling the military and police state, does that make it different this time? And somebody might ask why am I concerned with a potential collapse? The answer is the potential inability to pay down and/or manage our debts and the potential inability to not go further into debt to run the country (feed the parasites living off the government). But with a military that is the biggest and baddest in the world, we can always plunder other countries and continents resources to manage our debt. This is the hight of immorality, but it is what it is.

the elite as a group will survive regardless. But individuals will move in and out of the group. In the destruction an entire new group of elite will buy the world up in a firesale. This is how it always happens What you dont seem to to understand is the control is an illusion. And their tool box to fix it is empty. The only thing left to do is position for a reset and allow it to happen. Its not just preppers doing that; but members of the elite as well.

If history has showed us one thing its that all governments/political systems/economic systems eventually collapse. The collapses of some are worse than others. As Mark Twain said (paraphrasing): "all political doctrines are rich in difficulties...its no surprise its out of the average citizens reach, as it also out of the reach of the ablest minds in the country. After all the debate, not one theory has been proven to be the right and the best".
