we are not KILLING on the recruiting trail. we are making endroads with quality commits BUT we are actually having a difficult time closing oos guys. lots of guys (prevot, gilmore, huermann, barrett, leslie etc.) have us high but we can't close any of them as of yet.

Stars? No. I actually haven't looked at star rankings since 2009. The quality evaluation that we have on the staff has done a damn good job so far. We have great guys committed and have targeted more stud players.

Gilmore names LSU his leader, Florida way second.
Also JT Barrett to Ohio State.
Also JT Barrett to Ohio State.

not being negative but for those of you saying its early too close etc. just ask ohio state who just closed on barrett who was probably our no.1 qb prospect. the sky is not falling but I repeat.
WE ARE HAVING A HARD TIME CLOSING TOP OOS PROSPECTS.

Other than Barrett and Heuerman who else on that list of guys has been closed out by another school? I guess everyone is having a hard tike closing Prevot, who decided on his own to push back his decision, Gilmore, who has never intended to commit early and now is considering it, etc. It's not closing time. We miss on 1 oos kid in Barrett that is a blow and a TE that people vastly overstated our chances of getting because his dad knows Miles and all of a sudden all the capital that the staff has earned with their efforts this year is gone? Some people just need to stay away from recruiting. The guys that think that way aren't built for recruiting. Get out before you have a heart attack or anxiety attack. Pick up Spades or Solitaire. Maybe you guys will be happier. Recruiting is a marathon and not meant to be done in April when signing day is next Feb. 75% of the guys currently commited to schools will continue to visit schools and seriously look around. Would you rather have guys like that commited to LSU? Not me. I prefer our guys be settled for the most part on LSU.

Larry Hollins, I posted this same info to your "Bateman comments on LSU post where you said:
It applies here too.
Last year Avery Johnson(a legacy) was the only OOS recruit LSU had before July. 2012 commits (Scout)
In the 2010 class Trevon Randle was the only OOS recruit LSU had before July. 2010 Scout
In the 2008 class Kellen Theriot was the only OOS recruit LSU had before June. 2008 Scout
In 2007 Steven Ridley (everyone else offered at LB) was the only OOS recruit LSU had befoe May 31st. 2007 Scout
Most of this class will be from Louisiana. The quarterbacks are waiting for the guys ahead of them to commit.
Most of the other OOS guys are national recruits that will probably be late to commit.
PWhy not pay attention to the replies to your posts so maybe you don't look so dense over and over again.

Good post Chinese.
To add to that we'll likely only have 6-8 oos kids in the class to begin with. We don't rely on OOS kids as much as other schools. How many OOS kids does Texas have? TAM? UF has like 17 commits and there can't be more than 2 maybe 3 of them OOS. Schools that have huge instate pools to choose from aren't going to have a ton of OOS commits right now. Signing day is 10 months away.

He pretty much said in a 247 article that was posted today that if RN were to commit to LSU now, then he would follow. He said he didn't want to necessarily commit early, but he was nervous about waiting because he didn't want to lose his place in the class.

Do him and RN communicate regularly? I wonder how they know one another

UF needs to get this kid on campus if it wants to have a shot at him. I want him at UF but will see. Great prospect
