Dale Brown was at nearly every home game. Shaq praised the hire of TJ at the time it was made. TJ had every opportunity, and I think he would have eventually succeeded here, but no telling how long that would have taken.

You are still missing the point. Ever heard of no point in crying over spilled milk? Whats done is done. Are you just bitching to bitch?

It's understandable to gripe if we are losing, but the man was just hired! It makes ZERO SENSE to be an LSU fan and immediately bitch/give up on the program right after a hire like this is made....especially a hire that so many people who know 100000% more about basketball than you do fully endorsed.

Enjoy being miserable. I'm gonna enjoy some LSU Basketball in the meantime.

Whatever. This hire clearly shows that we don't give a frick about basketball at LSU. I remember in the late 80s and early 90s, we gave a frick about basketball. I long for those days.

you are right, I don't give a frick about basketball. Now go away.

The fact of the matter is TJ chose to try and do it alone. It failed miserably. No major or successful program in the country has a coach with no one who closely helps supports the program. When you go that route you better win more than 12 conference games in three years. You have to have friends all over the state who can help you with recruits. No Body will care about you if show no regard for them. Johnny Jones understands that, TJ never got that. TCU will find out soon enough what Stanford found out and now LSU. TJ tried to leave last year and was successful this year leaving cause he knew he was dead here. One thing I can assure you of the talent level on this team will improve over the next few years which is one thing to be excited about, not to mention we have a guy who loves LSU and will give everything he has to make us successful. This is Johnny's dream job what more could you ask for, give him a chance he has already done more in less than a week then the last guy did in three years. TJ didn't even start recruiting for two years, Johnny was recruiting Friday night.

Talking about the fans coming back out. Obviously winning cures all but how many of you think people will come back out and give this guy some support early on? How many of you who haven't been going to the games or many of the games will go out out more often early on? Will you come back if we lose a game or 2?

Just from what I have seen and heard from Jones in the past two days, had he been the coach in March, I would have found a way to go to the SEC tournament games in New Orleans. As it was, I had no interest in taking off work to go see a TJ coached team. Yes, sad as it was, I took a long lunch to watch them on TV instead.

Might as well jump off on the side that is behind him. The guy has earned his shot. I bet he starts bring big names to LSU. At this point I will be really happy with that.

Id rather continue to ignore basketball. The entire system is screwed. College and Pro. Not giving anymore of my time or money to a bullshite program ran by a handful of cronies.

Johnny said all the right things in his presser, but talk is cheap and he's been given a great opportunity with this job. Before we crown him as the savior of LSU basketball he needs to actually do something to prove his worth in the next couple of years. I'm excited(Tebow) for Johnny and will support him and hope like hell that he can turn the shitty LSU basketball program around.

No one is crowning him anything. I'm just saying lets support the guy. Actually give him a shot.

looks like most people are going to support him.. but i can also see why some people are very skeptical of the hire along with the what seems to be a faux coaching search by alleva...johnny will just have to win some people over.

What could Alleva have possibly done to make some people think any differently? Johnny Jones' name came up from the get go and everyone associated with LSU Basketball started endorsing him. For all we know Alleva interviewed 100 candidates, but because of the situation with Jones, nobody believes that.

I think the point here is to support LSU. Bitching about a coaching hire and refusing to go to games anymore is not gonna change anything except make things harder on Jones and LSU.

If you're a fan, then be a fan.

20 years of shitty LSU basketball except for a couple of seasons...If some people want to be skeptical of Johnny than that's their right.

Again, I don't see that many people bitching about Johnny so I don't why you're being so anal.

Thats just Mickey Goldmill, he was all in for trent johnson even til the day he left.

He cant look at things realistically, he has purple and gold glasses on. You could stick a maytag washing machine out there as a baskatball coach and he'd be all excited about it. Just let him be i guess. He doesnt understand reasoning.
