Sorry if Trayvons.

I've been looking at all sorts of ceramic grills and have so far narrowed it down to Grill Dome, BGE and the Primo. Do any of you own the Grill Dome?

I'm impressed with the thickness of the ceramic of the Grill Dome (1.5 inches vs. .75 for Primo and BGE), the 304 heavy duty stainless steel used on the Grill Dome, as well as the warranty.

I do like the size and shape of the Primo Oval XL, but doubt that it's necessary.

Anyone have any other valuable input either pro or con on the Grill Dome? Any objective reason to buy the Big Green Egg instead, other than owning one and liking it?

I'll primarily be using it to cook steaks at high temperatures, as well as smoking.

Thanks.

Get the Grill Dome because of the stainless hardware. The Primo Oval XL is too massive and the Oval JR is too small for entertaining. The BGE offers no significant advantages over these 2 competitors other than being more widely available.

The top vent on the Primo is rather primitive compared to the competition, but the oval shape is a more efficient use of grill space.

I know it's all marketing, but some say that the Grill Dome paint will chip very easily, but I don't know. If only BGE would offer stainless steel components, and other color options.........they might have a few more customers.
