Did he lose a lot of weight? I seem to remember him being on the heavy side when he first got here. I could be wrong though

he struggled, he wasn't as bad as some of you are saying. he would pitch well until he got to the lineup the second time around, then they started hitting. now as a reliever he doesnt have to go through the lineup a second time.

i thought he looked good early in his first year here. but when we got into SEC play, i think that he wasn't ready for the quality of players vs. what he saw at LSUE. last year was tommy johns. now he's playing to his potential. plus we have a better pitching coach.

batters watching that 3rd strike curve fall off the table has nothing to do with bats.

+1 if you can't put the bat on the ball it doesn't matter what you are swinging.

all you said was let's wait and see before writing him off because PM obviously saw something in him. You didnt predict anything.

Also per PM Bourgeois was terrible in fall ball so his turnaround isnt really from two years ago, its from 6 months ago. Truly a great story. I definitely didnt think he had it in him.

I can promise y'all that everyone will be surprised with Bourgeois next season. The kid has busted his arse to become a better player. He is in much better shape having dropped a lot of weight, and is working hard to strengthen his arm. Don't be surprised when he plays a HUGE roll next season.

I tried to tell yall, he would have a turn around year. No one wanted to listen.

I never said he would pitch this well, but i was just about the only person defending him. Call it what you will. Im not overly surprised he is pitching this well.

players just generally get better as they age. He's always has had good stuff. You could see that even when he sucked 2 years ago.

He not only got hit after the first time through the 9, but I also remember him having terrible control issues. I haven't got to watch him live yet this year but I also remember him working extremely fast on the rubber. It was as if he was in a hurry to throw ball 4 so he could pitch from the stretch. Has he slowed down between pitches any?

This

He's a bull pen pitcher who was forced to be a starter. We didn't have much options for pitching that season.

A very nasty curveball to go along with his fastball finally.
