That offer list is impressive but not legit. Very few of the schools would take him right now. His talent is getting him a ton of attention from colleges but they'll all want to see him in person before taking him. He would get picked on endlessly with the big wrs these days and while a good athlete he isn't a burner so he doesn't have the speed to make up for his size limitations. Imo his best position in the future is at S. His size is less an issue there

Sounds a little like Noel Ellis in that both are small, skilled and would need to camp to get an offer.

If Ellis was closer to Miami do you think he would he have more offers(commitable or not)?

ETA: Found this Miami BB thread where he supposedly ran a 4.71 forty. Canesinsight.com

Can't say for sure but I'd think so. More schools are willing to recruit FL and FL kids are revered by schools everywhere. He 'd probably have offers from a ton of northern and midwest schools that recruit FL for the 2nd and 3rd tier kids. Not saying Ellis is 2nd or 3rd tier on the face but in FL he would be. I'd take Ellis over Likely. Likely is a better athlete but Ellis is bigger if only slightly(when you're 5'7 as Likely is those 2 inches are a lot) and I think Ellis is a better pure cover guy.

Who knows I could be wrong about what and how many schools would take Likely but I doubt it's by much. I just don't see a 5'7 db being a take at this stage by a major program. He's an add on or filler recruit towards the end imo. Too risky imo.

I think so too. It's good for the Florida kids but really sucks for our guys.

Seems like this semi-anonymity is really a benefit for surrounding BCS/AQ's and all of the Louisiana colleges.

per CBS re Miami Nike Camp:
"The defensive back has taken home group MVP honors at this event before and holds offers from Alabama, LSU and USC among others".
