I started to lose my shite on him halfway through the season, and then we'd get those games like the Vikings where the defense did it's job against a horrible offense, and I would get hopeful about the defense again.
I was like Molder in the X-Files: I wanted to believe. I wanted to believe that this defense was competent enough not to waste the best offense to ever take the field.

Yeah, I agree.
I was just thinking of 2010 when it was truly "missed tackles" i.e. Porter getting shoved 20 yards across field by Lynch, LB getting run right over for a TD, etc.
In the video it looked like a WR would catch a ball 20 yards downfield, the defender would miss a tackle, then the WR would get 5 YAC and get tackled and the guy calculating would account 25 yards for a missed tackle, even though it was really only 5.

ETA: To be fair though, a lot of teams could make this type video. When you look at who the players are that are doing this against the Saints, it's the premier players in the league. I saw Donald Driver, MJG, Matt Forte, etc. Those type guys do that to EVERY team each week.

09 GW =/= 11 GW.
ETA: He also cost us a chance at our second SB. If we win that game, I have no doubt that we would have went to the SB, and I think we would have destroyed the Patriots defense.

Completely agree. Lord knows the Saints need to tackle better, but in the end missed tackles are going to happen because the offensive skill players are so good. Players need to make the play when it is in their hands. I believe THIS is why we were not in the SB last year.
See dropped interception right in hands by Prob in the 9ers game.
