I made it to Season 3, Episode 11 -Rapture about the Final Five.

The fact that Balter was still alive and countless other issues...lost all credibility - I don't like...ultra-wishy-washy unbelievable, characters turn dumb, forget what happened in the past...soap drama.

A great drama toes that line...between intrigue and self-parody.

Eh, your loss man. Mutiny arc in season 4 is quite good and I liked Balter's trial. Also, Romo Lampkin is the shite.

How does archer qualify as a series with an ongoing storyline? I've only seen the first two seasons and each episode seemed pretty self-contained

My favorite:
Lost
SoA
Game of Thrones
Band of Brothers
Boardwalk Empire

Were good at first:
Weeds
Heroes

Just started:
The Wire

Watched a few episodes but gave up:
True Blood
Deadwood
Luck

When I loaned Deadwood to a friend I made him promise to watch the first 4 episodes without giving up. He reluctantly did so and was hooked by episode 5. He followed it through to the end.

Game of Thrones gets my vote, here.
Deadwood
Sons of Anarchy
Band of Brothers
Lost

Star Trek: Deep Space 9. They set up the story in season one and carried it through all the way through season seven. Impressive.

Season 3 is less self contained and they expect for you to have seen all previous episodes. There are major plot points that effect each episode that happen in other ones.

How has Supernatural not been mentioned yet? One of the best continuing story lines in television IMO.

Good question.

Im on season 7 now, haven't seen the first episode yet, but the end of season 6 just sort of seemed to jump the shark for me. I mean Im thinking what the heck can happen next that hasn't already?

Fringe

Agree. Fringe does have an epic and very compelling story line. I haven't caught up with the series yet but I plan to.
