I am at the point of agreeing. Not sure exactly how much Alleva is to blame for the state of LSU basketball, but I think its time that he be held accountable for the lack of progress. Next season is in all likelihood going to suck at this point, so it seems like a good time to do some house cleaning. Trent definitely needs to go and probably Alleva with him.

I met Brady several times and he was always very cordial. In fact, one time we bullshitted for 5 or so minutes in Parking Lot C before a home football game.

Why next season? He's either the right man for the future of the program, or he isn't. I've seen enough.

I thought the whole point of building the program the "right way" with 2nd-tier players like Hamilton was that they were "program players" who would stay until they completed their eligibility. What's the point of recruiting mediocre players if they aren't going to stay either? I think that whole thing about building the "right way" with "program players" was just a bullshite justification for Trent Johnson's inability to recruit good players.

This will be the third big test of Alleva. His first test was to find a good replacement for Brady. He failed that one. Now, his next test is to correct his mistake by firing Johnson. So far, he's failing that as well. Assuming he eventually does fire him (a year too late), his third test will be to find a good replacement for Johnson. I'm not seeing a whole lot of reasons to be optimistic about how he'll do on that one, either.

id say timing is all wrong now. State couldn't get anyone to be their coach so we are stuck till at least mid season with tj.

I hate to say that you are correct but I think you are. We made the NIT, he was going to be granted another shot regardless. This makes his job very difficult next season...and quite possibly his last.

Alleva needs to take a hike. Lsu needs to go in a different direction with the bball program.
