I used to hate the idea of putting too much emphasis on the local connection . . . all the way to the old lady dancing around with the umbrella at Jazz games. But lately, I've come to like the idea that has some connection to the local culture, etc. I also like the idea of the Mardi Gras colors if done right. Frankly, the ones I saw this season were so fricking outlandis I thought they were kind of cool. In the same way the old Oakland A's were.
