I had family from ville platte over yesterday and they call a bushhog a shredder.

I can't speak it, but pow pow says it's even worse with coonass french.

The people at my wife's work call them cutters. They will quickly tell you that bush hog is a brand.

I agree with this. We caught 58 bream this weekend with the majority being bluegill. We also caught a bunch of bass, but threw them all back and 6 sacauperch.

Am I the only one here who uses the names interchangeably? They're all right to me. Only with chinqs though, it's still sacalait an a pee-rawg.

This area is probably very close to 100% chinquapin. I may hear shellcracker once every 5 years, and then it's from someone not from here. Red ear about the same.

I heard shellcracket some. Lake runner, I was just told some people call them that, rarely hear it.

Buddy of mine from New Jersey told me he was catching some shellcrackers on toledo bend. I said what? He said chinqs, man. Never heard that before, and I grew up here. He'd only been here maybe 15 years. Caught one the other day bass fishing with a lizard. He almost swallowed it.

I use bream as a word that describes bluegill, sunfish, chinquapin, goggle eye... Etc

I disagree with bream. Bream to me would include all of those. Basically all panfish = bream, with the exception of sacalait. I also use bream and perch interchangeably. And the word perch is not associated with sacalait.
