Say what you want, argue however you feel like, but one thing will remain true...

These LSU Tigers are no longer a scary team. If we won the last two games, it would have been nice but it still would have been ugly against an Auburn team that should finish the season in the bottom 3 of the SEC.

I was a big CPM fan, but no more. This is not a melt down, just a reality check for all LSU fans. CPM is not the answer anymore, he had 2 chances to call on the suicide squeeze to get a run in and all he did was allow to hitters to swing away and hit into DP.

Hell, if Katz doesn't make a diving catch, this game was over in 9.

Something needs to change, I am tired of watching this team play at a mediocre level for 3 straight seasons.

We aren't very good.

The fact that we have this good of pitching and we'll probably be a bubble team for the NCAA Tournament again is a joke.

Just an opinion, but you think PM was overconfident by standing pat on the hitters and think he could win just with pitching?

2008 and 2009 were arguably the most fun I've ever had as an LSU baseball fan. PM won us another national title, and he also piled up 3 SEC tourney titles along the way. I'm proud of that, and happy that he brought LSU baseball back from the mediocrity we went through at the tail end of Smoke's tenure.

That said, 3 consecutive seasons of mediocrity is unacceptable. Granted, there is a long way to go in 2012, but if things pan out the way they did the last two seasons, it is absolutely unacceptable for one of the nation's most prestigous baseball programs.

I'll let 2012 play out, but I'm definitely worried at this point, and I most certainly will not tolerate another season similar to the last two. LSU should be hosting a regional every single year. Every..single...year. 3 consecutive years without hosting a regional is embarassing given the riches that LSU baseball has (fan support, stadium, tradition).

If we don't get better and become super regional worthy in a hurry, I'm ready for them to make a move after this year... at the very top.

I don't follow baseball much but how is Auburn expected to be in the bottom 3 of SEC when they have won 4 straight against top 15 opponents?

No, it's not.

I'm not an alarmist, I know it's still early, and I tried to calm down with a few drinks after the game. OK, a bunch of drinks. But I am extremely disappointed with our coaching and team to this point.

While we're at it, lets just fire all spring sports coaches and just start over.

What I don't get is how Maineri was once able to clean house and possess the wherewithal to win a championship but be perceived seemingly so inept now.

Agree 100% I have had season tickets for 3 years now and I do not recognize this program. This is not the LSU Baseball I remember. It is time for Javi to go NOW and right after him CPM if next season is the same as this one. Hitting, Base running,Overall coaching stinks. Raph Rymes must have is own hitting coach, as he is the only consistant hitter we have. We will get hammered by all of the SEC teams. If I am right we have 10HR's and Florida has around 35HR's
Sad but true.

This is also not the same college baseball environment either. The competition is WAY better than it was when Skip was coach. Skip was great, but he wouldn't dominate now the way he did.

LSU baseball has been mediocre more than its been stellar under CPM. He's never been a great game manager but now it could be argued he's a poor evaluator of talent.

Football aside, this is not the golden age of Tiger athletics as both the basketball and baseball teams are in decline.

We consider ourselves to be an unique athletic department but there are a number of SEC schools who we traditionally looked down upon who have surpassed us in recent years.

This season is not over but with road series in Florida, Kentucky, and South Carolina, you can add another 9 losses right there.
