Don't.
$129, A week old, first set on a 2 lb fish and it shattered/broke completely 10" from the reel seat.

Rod felt light and great, but c'mon. First set?

Been fishing over 35 yrs and never had that happen.

Color me unimpressed

I wouldn't have bought it simply because of the name.

I broke a Falcon HD ultralight the first time I used it on a lily. Had a friend with a lowrider that broke the first time he used it on a cast.

That said I have 2 lowriders and a coastal that I've been using a while and have had no problems or complaints.

Their warranty department sucks though.

I've been spooled, had line snap and broke a tip off while slamming the tailgate, but never have I had a Falcon "Original" snap on me while fishing. Only rod I use.
Hate to say it, but the Academy I frequent replaces them with no questions.

The one I broke on a lily (with almost no pressure) I got replaced with the exact same rod (HD 5' ultralight) and had caught 1lb bass on it no problem. The problems with falcon are hit and miss, but they're there. I'll probably never buy another lowrider, the dobyns savvy are nicer and not much more. Plus I know a guy, so I get them for cheaper

I have a BooCoo and an HD and have never had any problems with either. My girlfriend accidentally broke the tip off of the HD, I took it back to Academy and they told me to just go grab another one. That lifetime warranty through Academy is why I buy Falcon rods.
