I dont agree with the suspensions at all but,
quote:

"The club has handled the matter with the players and the incentive pool has been discontinued," league spokesman Greg Aiello said via e-mail Monday.

This is the difference between the situations

So is the NFL still going to investigate the redskins (and maybe the Ravens)?

Sure they're different. But also very alike. If the saints get the death penalty, surely the packers should get SOME kind of penalty.

Not hard to understand.

The Packers took steps to handle the matter in the eyes of the NFL.

The Saint's basically gave the NFL the finger as far as the league is concerned.

I understand the saints lying Is the big difference. And that's why the penalty Is so severe. Everybody knows that. But that only reinforces the idea that the packers should get SOMETHING. Is lying alone worth 1 year + 14 games + 2 draft picks + $500,000?

Lets say lying increased the penalty 4-fold, shouldn't the packers and everyone else who had a bounty program be penalized 1/4 of what the saints got?

Wait, that's way too logical.

It's not just the lying. It's continuing to do what you were told specifically not to do.

How about the Packers get the same penalty the Saints would have gotten if they'd done what they were told?

And you know with 100% certainty that they were not told anything by the league?

The easiest, most logical way of looking at this involves something you're willfully ignoring.

Had the Saints taken the Packers' route, they'd be fine. The NFL doesn't owe it to you to punish the Packers to appease you. Take off the glasses, place the blame on those who committed the offense, and take the blow like a man, brother.

Not sure who "they" is or what you're getting at. If you're getting at the fact that the Saints fricked up and got what they asked for, then I agree.

My problem Goodell should have come out against the Saints lying and breaking a rule.

The safety aspect is just stupid. If they are laying legal hits then there is really no big deal about on the field actions. if Goodell dropped the stupid safety bs then I would be a lot better with the situation.

Wasn't there plenty of talk in the 50,000+ pages of material about going after ankles, knees, and heads of opponents in intent-on-injuring ways?

(I admit I'm asking because I don't know.)
