We got Cooper when he was still under the radar. He didn't really blow up until late in the recruiting cycle. He had been committed for months by then. We got lucky with him. I think we knew we would have a fight on our hands with Burns. I just didn't expect him to drop us all together at this point in the process.

Artie Burns runs 13.35 110h into a 1.4m/s wind to lead the nation by .7 seconds at Bob Hayes Invitational

I hope our track program can seal the deal the same way it did for Bracy and Darby's '12 recruitment.

Yeah I remember the Cooper recruitment well and the Miami fans I post with regularly were all advocates of him but also said if Miami offered he was all theirs. Didn't quite work the way they thought it would. That's why I mentioned him as being the exception. Bama doesn't miss many kids when the eval them. Cooper was another example of that. Maybe the most college ready wr in last year's class.

I think FSU's track program will continue to help in recruiting. Jimbo has experience with using that as a selling point from his time at LSU when we were in the top 2 men's track programs with Arkansas. Makes one wonder why TAM doesn't or can't use their's to their advantage. They took our spot in the track world though we're still formidable.
