I've heard Jabari speak quite a few times and even read his columns in the Times Picayune. I wouldn't describe him as an idiot.

Not sure why he called. He isn't giving an opinion on anything. Argued with Schien, and sounds misinformed.
He didn't even know Vitt was suspended.

Intelligent or not, this was the wrong time to call in. He wasn't ready emotionally to give this interview. He has calmed down a bit, and is carrying the Saints flag hard right now, but not a good interview.

His main reason for calling is because he's upset at how he feels the team is being portrayed by the media and fans outside of New Orleans. Using my own words, but he feels the team is being portrayed as a bunch of thugs. He wants people to know that they play the game hard and they are good people.
He refused to answer any specific questions about what went on. To me, that's a clear admission of wrongdoing.
I don't think he came off particularly well in the interview (although not stupid like someone inferred). I agree he wasn't emotionally ready for this. There's also no way to appease the national media right now unless they come on and issue a mea culpa. Anything else is going to be treated like denial or delusional.
