It is a question and makes sense on many levels. First, the Saints still have four pre-season games so it is revenue neutral. Second, the players don't like pre-season games to begin with. Third, it is really a racket designed to give the Hall of Fame $1 million bucks. Fourth, only 22,000 seats are sold so I doubt the revenue one could get from participating is all that great. Obviously the TV deal would produce the lion's share of the money.

It's not about revenue; it's about the fact that saints would be fined/sued/penalized further for breaking contractual agreements with the league.
