Good tips.

I made an alcohol stove out of a Vienna sausage can. Ever use one of those?

No but some of the best stoves out there are homemade alcohol stoves. I hiked with a 65 year old guy for a month (his 3rd thru-hike) who made a contraption 20 years ago from a green bean can and still used it. I'm just a sucker for convenience. Also, I only use my fuel to bring my water to a boil. That's 90 seconds every morning and 90 seconds every night. A 3.5 ounce fuel canister will last me over a month.

I made one out of a beer can. Two friends of mine used one solely while hiking the Washington state portion of the PCT.

I'll see if I can find the site I copied mine from.
