Sons Of Anarchy Season 3 (SPOILERS INSIDE)

I just finished season 3 and here are my thoughts.
Season 3 was a masterful show of storytelling. There wasn't a wasted scene throughout. Each side story felt natural and was resolved satisfactorily by the end of the season. To me, the 3rd season felt more like a climax and resolution of seasons 1 & 2. The series seemed to be wrapped up nicely. While I haven't seen a single frame of season 4, I feel, at this point, that season 4 would be a sequel to the first 3 seasons (My guess: They are released from jail after 13 months, and the town, now run by Hale, has changed, and the Club has to adjust. Does this not sound like a sequel?)
Jax Teller's character reached a point where I believe it was meant to go. He's at a balance of zen, and murderous lady's man.
Don't get me wrong, I'm going to continue watching, but to me, Seasons 1-3 made a completed story. The enemies were destroyed, fences were mended, all of the main characters learned something, and changed for the better.

I am a big proponent that SOA needs to be watch in succession without delay. I ran through the first 3 seasons on netflix and couldn't get enough. Then I caught season 4 on FX with a weekly wait and time for me to consider how silly some of the shite was. Granted I think season 4 seriously stretched things and wasn't conquerable to the first 3 seasons. Regardless my interest level was a lot lower for each episode when I had to wait a whole week. When i watched 6 episodes on a boring Sunday I really got caught up and needed to keep watching

A lot of people hate season 3. I loved it, watched it in a day, and agree with what you said.
The S3 finale was awesome and just lagniappe for me to wrap up a solid season.

S3 was a bit boring watching it when it aired. I guess it's because we were used to the fast paced show that we saw in the first two seasons and the slower paced 3rd caught us off guard. I wasn't a big fan of the missing child either.
However, after rewatching the season on DVD, my opinion changed big time. I consider it my favorite season now.
S4 was great for 13 episodes and then had a very disappointing finale.

I watched the first three seasons on Netflix/torrents and I have to say season 3 was amazing. If I watched it week to week, I can see why some would call it boring. But damn if it didn't deliver...
