I wish people could debate these things in an honest, direct way, instead of the silly rhetoric...

* It will change tailgating..already has
* Fees are designed to raise money, the cleaning up excuse is just silly
* The increased fees are necessary for LSU to remain competitive in the nonsensical ESPN semi-pro world of college football

The problem is not LSU, our fees are reasonable compared to other top tier SEC schools. The problem is the no-limit arms race in college football where everyone benefits except the fans and the schools...ESPN wins, coaches win, players win, administrators win, trainers win, construction companies win, secretary to the assistant for administrative development win, non-fans win because then can now watch games they don't care about on TV, etc etc.

only 'real' FANS AND SCHOOLS LOSE.....The quantity and quality of the product does not change, but we pay 10 times what we did 20 years ago. The quality has actually gone down as fans now have to watch and listen to commercials during the game where we did not years ago. Money pours into the athletic problem, but none, of any substance get to the school itself. With the billions of dollars that go to athletic departments, almost all still have to be subsidized by the schools....

I enjoyed going to games MUCH more in the early 80's without the expenses and commercials that we now have to endure.

It is an college football problem, not an LSU problem.

In my honest opinion, I do not think 100% of the money is going towards the athletic program as we were making plenty before hand and the trash excuse is...trash. I honestly think its a way to earn some extra income for the school which I have no issues with as we are hurting badly financially.

We've been pretty damn competitive without that money.
