According to sources, Brees is "livid"; won't sign tag

Kaare Johnson has reliable sources saying that Drew is "livid" about getting the franchise tag and negotiations not continuing until today's deadline and that he refuses to sign it.
I was skeptical at first, but this source has been very reliable in the past.

I seriously doubt Drew is that livid. A) He understands business as much as anyone B) He understands why Saints had to do this for time being C) Even Peyton Manning received the tag temporarily through continued negotiations.

i don't think he should go full retard - if he didn't understand it was going this way then he's been getting bad advice from his agent (and really where was his sense of outrage in the past five plus years when other guys on his team were getting the franchise tag?)
sitting out has the potential to damage his national reputation - so far he's not been touched by anything even slightly negative

Brees understands that 23 mil upfront is expecting a lot.
If he wouldn't accept anything less, he shouldn't be livid.

Whom did the Saints franchise tag the past 5 years?
Charles Grant was the only one right? And he ended up not signing the tag and getting a long term deal IIRC.
