Very good and true article. Signing Brees to top money is gonna have a huge affect on this team. Sadly defense probably won't improve much unless the draft is somehow very kind to us, and the offense will drop a little bit too. Hope I'm wrong but it'll be a fight for the division.

Not a fan of Yaskinkas' writing, but this was was interesting, at least. Too much speculation though. We should not have given Jahri so much...

Too many basic assumptions that I totally disagree with. One is he is completely disregarding coaching. I will take Sean Payton anyday in putting my team together. Brees will command major bucks but I do see Vilma, Porter and possibly Smith being let go. That should free up a ton of money and will not be a downgrade. While Vilma has been a great Saint the injuries and age are starting to catch up to him. Based on last year this should be a position that will be upgraded. Porter basically has played about a fourth of a season the last 2 years. He just can't stay healthy. With PRob and Bryant and maybe another strong draft or free agent should solve this issue. I would love to keep Smith but his contract demands might say no. People have to remember that while Brees is the heart and soul of this team, this team was built on great free agent pickups and quality late round draft picks. Romeus might really pan out this year and be a draft rushing demon. I disagree that our franshise is going belly up. In fact I would argue we have at least 3 more years of a great stretch run.
