Never had seen this prior to last night. I knew the general plot and "There can be only one!", but hadn't actually seen it.

Netflix had the description as something to the effect of "a paragon of modern action fantasy..."

This movie fricking blew. shite effects (but I won't judge for the time), shite, nay stupid plot, bad acting, shitty fight scenes, virtually nothing epic at all.

I know it was 1985, and it's aged extremely poorly, but even so... I tried to put myself in a 1985 mindset when watching, and still, giving it major leeway, thought it was crap.

Just wondering what people saw at the time. FWIW, Highlander 2, by the description, sounds like the worst movie ever made. I'm not going to watch that one.

been awhile, but I did like the scene in one of them, think it was the first, where he's been collecting all this crap over time

and yeah, you're going to get your head lobbed off for that review - and I don't mean in a good way.

I'm being serious. Have you watched it of late? I think it was just being kids at the time, shite was awesome.

Same with Rookie of the Year for example. You watch it with some perspective years later and realize how fricking dumb the whole premise was.

I've never seen Highlander, but I've seen the intro to it many, many times (I guess from seeing it before I always changed the channel).

"He is Duncan MacLeod.............Highlander."

Well no shite. How stupid was it to have a movie about a Delorean that goes back in time when you drive it 88 miles an hour. Stupid.

I won't win the "prize." Which was to become mortal by the way. WTF?

Seriously. I love Christopher Lambert, and Sean Connery was cool, but she stabs him to prove his immortality, she's crying and emotionally disturbed, and then they frick? I laughed so hard at that part.

I have it on DVD and have watched in in the last few months.

I will admit it could do with some refreshing because even though made in the mid 80s, it actualy has a late 70s feel to it. Still, I think it was a pretty cool plot idea and overall, a good movie.

I love BTtF FWIW. But it was because I saw it as a kid. That's what I'm thinking this Highlander love is about.

Also, even as a sub 10 year old BTtF 3 with the flying train was garbage.

That's the TV show in the movie he's Conner MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod. He was born in 1518 in the village of Glenfinnan on the shores of Loch Shiel. And He is immortal.

Easy there, nerds.

You're right...I always thought the movie and TV show were kinda hand in hand, but apparently not. My b.

I was thinking while watching, done today, with a great director, it could be pretty sweet.

McLeaod (sic?) - Sean Bean
Rodriguez (sic?) - Liam Neeson
Krogan (sic?) - Christian Bale
Police Chick - Amanda Seyfried
Director - Chris Nolan
Screen Play - Aaron Sorkin

Yea, he was huge. Look up his filmography on IMBD though, and see how many animated features/video games he has lent his voice to. It's silly.

I think you go for nefarious, agile and deadly over pure brawn in a reboot.
