Is there a bigger piece of shite titty baby than Nate Fisher? I've got like 4 episodes left and I just finished the episode where he bones Maggie while Brenda is pregs with his daughter who possibly is disabled. I think I dislike Krause just for playing him. I feel zero sympathy for the guy as the series goes forward.

Through most of the series, you know that Nate and Brenda are both so warped in their own ways, and it's agony to watch them try to string their relationship along like it's anything other than a misguided train wreck. Eventually I began to dislike both of them so much that I figured they are the only two people who deserve each other.

This is one of the only series I've ever watched where I hated every single major character at some point in time. They all have glaring weaknesses that make them more like a "real" family than a group of protagonists.

Was he even still with Brenda at that point? She was a mess and I would have distanced myself from her and her family, regardless of her carrying my kid. Maggie was cute as shite and normalish, I would have smashed too.

Maggie was a quaker or some shite. But yeah, he was married and living with her, but they were having issues.

It never seemed like he was not "with" Brenda, even when he was married to Lisa. For some reason, he was a glutton for her sadistic punishment.

An addiction to serial affairs, a codependency on her manic brother, arrested development caused by a traumatic childhood? Seems like the type of woman you want to be running to with all of your baggage, Nate.

As flawed as Nate was, I kind of liked him. Or at least enjoyed watching him fail so often.

One of the great thing about the series. However, I think "hate" is a little bit strong. All of the characters had their problems.

I still consider the season finale to be one of the greats.

I actually started to hate Nate towards the end too. I think Brenda accuses him of not wanting to deal with possibly having a "special" child, and she was absolutely right.

Nate was always looking for something better.

Nate was always really flighty. As said, he was always looking for something better. But it was at least refreshing to have a show where the characters were flawed but not for the sake of being flawed IMO.

And you have some very good episodes coming up. The finale is probably one of the most satisfying finales I've seen and the montage at the end is easily the top I've seen.

Totally agree - the series finale is imo truly astounding.

And if you can get thru the episode "That's My Dog" - the more power to you - one of the most intense episodes in television history.

All in all, despite it's flaws, a really great series.

it never occurred to me this way, but i agree with this 100%. there are moments where i really love/sympathize for characters and a few episodes later im disgusted by them.

this is one of my favorite series ive ever seen.

A season or two in it felt like the writers were deliberately playing the concept of how unlikeable they could make the characters without losing all of the audience. It was almost like someone made a poker bet and had to follow through

The only character I didn't ever dislike was Nate Sr. Seemed like a cool old dude to me.

That was Entourage for me. Watched about 6 episodes, realized that the only reason I was watching was in the hopes that they would all die slow agonizing death, realized they probably wouldn't, so quit watching and called it a day.

But SFU is one of my all-time favorites. It's the only series I've ever watched twice.

His brother? His mother? Every character in the series?

No kidding. How a cast of douche bags could appeal to an audience amazes me.

David seems to be one of the few who feels bad for the fricked up shite he does. I wouldn't have agreed about his mother being that fricked up until she got George an apartment to start abandoning him.

I agree all chracters were pretty fricked up, but Nate just fricking cries and is always the victim. If I got to hit every unlikeable character from the show, he is at the top of my list.

SFU has the best finale of any show I have ever watched. You have to watch the end several times to get it all in.

I never watched a second of 6FU, but have seen the final 10 or so minutes of the finale, and it's fricking awesome. I can only imagine how great it is after watching the entire show and being invested in it for five seasons. I've actually watched that clip several times, and it's really powerful. Makes me wish I'd have seen the show, although I likely never will.

I couldn't help myself. Here is a clip of the final six minutes. Of course, it won't mean nearly as much if you don't know the characters and their backstory. Oh, yeah . . . I would guess "spoiler alert".

While on a roll, another great scene, imo. Spoiler alert, of course.
