After you shoot at hogs a few times during the daylight hours they get very smart and only move at night. The crawfish heads were something new for them to eat and they came to them during daylight hours (then they were shot).

I would think they hide in creek bottoms. If you spend enough time in the woods you will run accross a stray here and there but not often. I'm lucky no hogs where I hunt..........
