anyone know how much the typical gator hunter makes during the month?

It really depends on how many tags you have and what the price of gators are. When I did it I used to have 60 tags and made/clear anywhere from $5,000-$10,000 in the month. I was going to college and doing it on the weekend so I really only worked 10-12 days during the month.

Right now with the low price on gators $10-$12/ft they will probably average about $80-$100 a gator. Then you have to subtract supplies and fuel from that.

I heard a rumor that they were getting paid around $20,000 an episode but I don't know how true that is.

I'll be watching. I get the argument that it's scripted and it is, but can't get enough. I've taken to history and discovery shows to give me some humor.

One of the things that gets me though is they talk about having to drive 100+ miles to get to the buyer. Then they say the buyer is in Pierre Part. I guarantee they don't launch 100 miles from Pierre Part.
It's entertainment...A lot of it is definitely scripted. Gators have been put back in and boated again for one reason or another.
I have other friends that have 50-60 tags a year and they say it's not east work at all.

A lot of the gator buyers will have refrigerated trucks and will drive them to areas where they can buy a bunch from. The farthest I ever had to driver was like 10-15 miles to sell mine.

Public Lands and Lake

Resident alligator hunting licenses cost $25 and there is no cost for alligator tags issued to non-lottery alligator hunters. Lottery alligator hunters may be required to pay a set fee per alligator tag issued. These fees are in lieu of payments normally made to the Department for the value of alligators harvested.

Residents not possessing or having permission to harvest alligators on private lands or public lands/lakes can harvest alligators as an alligator sport hunter while accompanied by a guide.

Non-residents can only harvest alligators as an alligator sport hunter while accompanied by a guide.

A guide must be an alligator hunter possessing tags. An alligator Sport Hunter License cost $25 for Louisiana residents and $150 for non-residents.
