Watched first season and liked it. Quit about half way through the second season. Too much of the same every episode and a getting more and more scripted. I won't be watching this season.

I'm sure they make their money on the gators as normal and get paid from History Ch. Last year Jacob was still traveling along the gulf coast selling crawfish. With all the extra promos they have been doing, Lotto, Paragon, etc. I don't know if he still works his other job. History Ch definitely controls their promo stuff!!

Seems like a pretty low budget production. They did some filming where I work and it was 1 guy with a camera and a few of the "stars". Camera man was also producer, and audio engineer.

From actually speaking to Kliebert from the first season they got paid $12k. I'm sure it is a good bit more now.

They need to do away with all the narration. I would prefer the show much more if they included more personal conversations between the deckhands and just show how the crew works even not when their catching gators. The narration makes them look moronic. Also, nicknaming every alligator on the show is getting annoying.

Yea I think overall they kind of give the impression they are all dumb coonasses living off the land to survive. "If they don't catch fish or a gator they will go hungry."
