With Netflix you get what you pay for. For the quality and quantity, 8 dollars a month is not going to kill you

It works well for me. When traveling, the kids are watching Netflix and we all get along.

I stopped using Netflix and decided to buy a massive hard drive and stockpile it full of movies. It allows me to also have the hidden gems as well as movies not on Instant and by not using Netflix it pretty much pays for itself in the long run.

Yeah I've been getting into torrenting as well. That choice has allowed me to see Drive 4 times in that last year

It is addicting, especially for me when I somehow find that rare avant garde Holocaust movie that maybe 10 people in the world have seen.

I also found a ridiculously awesome torrent site that specializes in rare exploitation, avant-garde stuff. But it is very difficult to become a member and stay one. I got kicked out and I'm having trouble getting back in. It's called Cinemageddon

And that's exactly the problem, I can't pay more for more selection if I wanted to. It seems like NetFlix has gone from growth mode to survival mode. As they skew more towards TV content there's a lot less separation between NetFlix and HuluPlus than there used to be. With Amazon, Apple and Google all having TV/Movie ambitions, I wouldn't be surprised if NetFlix starts fading away over the next year or 2.

If you can't find something to watch on Netflix Instant, you have very limited taste in movies and TV shows.

eh, they don't have a lot of popular titles.

They have several great TV shows I can occuppy my time with, but movies? VERY LIMITED.

For $8 a month, I'm not going to complain, but anyone who says streaming has a solid selection, is delusional or just likes anything on a TV.

Amazon and Viacom, Verizon and Redbox teaming up.

Once the others get up and running, I'd much rather pay $60 a month for all three and not have to think about cable anymore.

Well I still have and use my netflix but I'm all about stockpiling movies on my harddrives.

I have about 3.5 terabytes of HD movies mostly 720p since those are smaller files.

i understand it is cheap, so you kind of get what you pay for..

however, i wouldnt mind paying 10-12 dollars a month if they would seriously upgrade their movies stream.

I watched the entirety of Party Down, Parks and Rec and am now into X-Filea. After that it's Breaking Bad.

You should have started with Breaking Bad. Then again, once u watch BB, your bar for TV shows is raised so high, no other show will bring you as much joy and amazement.

way to generalize anyone who likes more than just popular titles. They have tons of great movies that just happen to be older. Look at it as a chance to see some fantastic films you otherwise may not have ever seen.

Right now, off the top of my head, Vertigo is back in my queue, and so is Hud. I just saw the Towering Inferno this week as well.

The reason people think there selection sucks, to generalize as you did, is because they all think streaming will be like having the entire video rental store at the click of a mouse.

One thing I wish they did have was a sort of video on demand feature. Like where I could pay $1 or more to stream a new movie rather than wait for the DVD in the mail.
