It may be way too early for this, but I'm bored and would like to know the rest of the boards feelings on who they would want in the draft.

We all know who we are picking if we end up with the number 1 pick in the draft. Chad Ford did a write up the other day stating who he thought every lottery team should pick if they ended up with the second pick, assuming Davis went 1.

New Orleans Hornets
No. 2: Andre Drummond

Emeka Okafor isn't the long-term answer in the middle and Carl Landry isn't the long-term answer at the 4. That makes getting a big man a priority, and with Drummond, they would have a player with potential All-Star talent. They'll look hard at Harrison Barnes, too, but with Trevor Ariza and Al-Farouq Aminu on the roster, a big man is a bigger need.

I personally want Thomas Robinson. Just love the guys effort and talent combination.

What say you ?

It's getting hard for me to like Drummond..he plays with zero motivation and drive.

He looked pathetic tonight against Louisville.

Right now, my top 5:

1-Davis
2-T-Rob
3-Barnes
4-Lamb
5-MKG

Ford wrote the article on the 3rd. He must still assume he will come out.

I agree with all of this except i'd probably have Sullinger over MKG.

I like MGK but i wanna see him be good at something other than hustling.

He can score and we can't. I think people are being too dismissive of Drummond though. I know he's not showing much but he's got huge potential.

Hopefully Gordon can make up for the lack of scoring that we have seen so far this year. I just think with all the talent at the PF position this year that we can't pass that up with our first pick. I also agree with Ford that virtually none of our current frontline players are in our longterm plans. Or do you believe that we can still get a solid PF with our second pick ? Maybe a Cody Zeller ?

Dude is a flat out scorer. I love his mindstate, he has that killer instinct like MJ,Kobe etc(not comparing him to them talent wise). I think he could be a 25 ppg guy with his talent and bball iq. I like Robinson but I think the board has been overrating his abilities a bit lately, He is not a top 2 level player imo, I see him as a 17-19 ppg guy on the next level, that's not really a franchise changer. I don't want Drummond at all, he has all the talent in the world but nothing going on upstairs. Pat Forde tweeted he just stopped competing tonight, what kind of shite is that for a top pick..

You've got to watch their games. Nobody on that team gives a frick anymore.

Yea, well barnes started slow his freshman year, so maybe Drummond will pick it up. What do you think of Lamb's game?

Earlier in year he was smooth as hell and doing pretty much whatever he wanted. Lately he's been off like the rest of the team. When he should be stepping into the leadership void Kemba left he really hasn't.

So much can change between now and then that it's really impossible for me to say what route to go.

If Ariza gets dealt beforehand, you probably go with Barnes or MGK.

If Okafor gets dealt beforehand, you look very hard at Drummond.

For example, there's been rumors of a deal getting us Patterson from Houston. Let's say we deal Kaman for Patterson. Well, as good as Robinson is, and I think the likelihood of Robinson being better than Patterson is good, but I don't think you pick a PF with that top pick. I just HATE having two young players trying to develop at the same position. I would draft a SF in this case, whether it be Barnes or MGK, giving them time to develop behind Ariza and also make Ariza very expendable.

I also don't want Lamb for this reason. I think he's really good, but I don't want another 'centerpiece' at the same position as our current 'centerpiece', assuming we can extend Gordon.

There's so many variables with the high possibility of at least one of Kaman, Landry, Ariza, and Okafor being traded and getting a solid young player in return. Plus, the draft boards are impossible to predict. One example here is Perry Jones -- he could easily work his way into a top 3 pick of he continues being aggressive as he has late and he has a good tourney run in March. Quincy Miller and Austin Rivers also could shoot up the charts if things really click for them down the stretch.

Right now, the players I want in order, minus SG (because of Gordon), are:

1) Anthony Davis
2) Thomas Robinson
3) Harrison Barnes
4) Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
5) Andre Drummond
6) Quincy Miller (w/ good tournament)
7) Perry Jones (w/ consistent aggression in tournament)

IMO, an awesome draft would involve getting another first round pick around #20.

#2 pick: Thomas Robinson PF
#12 pick: Quincy Miller SF
#20 pick: Fab Melo C (if he somehow comes out) or PGs Kendall Marshall / Tony Wroten

PG Jack / Vasquez
SG Gordon / Bellinelli
SF Ariza / Miller
PF Robinson / Ayon / Smith
C Okafor / Fab Melo

Barnes. Ariza (and definitely NOT Aminu) is not reason enough for me to shy away from this pick. I personally believe he is going to be the best player from this draft in 5 years.

I'm with you. Maybe Anthony Davis will be better but I think these two will be the best players from this draft
