Thinking about taking the lady there for Valentines Day. Can anyone tell me about the atmosphere, food, prices. Would you recommend this restaurant as a good place to go on a date.
Any Insight would be appreciated.

The food prices aren't bad but if you have drinks you're gonna get fricked.
I've taken my wife there a few times and it's run us anywhere $120-150. We get 3 rolls, a few drinks each, and dessert.
The atmosphere is pretty awesome, and just about every table has an amazing view. The lighting is good for an intimate date.
ETA: I'd rather start there for dinner, go to the wine loft for drinks and dessert, then end the evening pounding beers and dancing at roux house.
My only problem is that it can be pretty loud in there at times.

bring a lot of green
its way over priced, you're paying for the atmosphere and 'view' of the mississippi river
i'd stay away and go somewhere else

How so?
Seems okay to me.
ETA: Sometimes it's okay to get TDTF.

TDTF
I can't keep up with all these acronyms.
To the OP, Tsunami is a great place for a date but you'll probably have a hard time getting in for Valentine's night. It's not cheap.

Overpriced; and overdone for dates and special occasions. Go someplace else.

Great atmosphere. Prices a little on the high side for what you get. The sea bass is AWESOME!

Yes, but I wouldn't recommend it for V-Day...but then again, I don't recommend going to any restaurant on V-Day. You're just asking for horrible service, thus a disappointing night.

I agree with what the others said. I thought the sushi was really good. The atmoshpere is nice and the view excellent. Ther prices were high.
The biggest negative, something kind of surprising for a sushi restaurant, is that the service has been horrendous all three times I've been. I'm not usually one to complain about that type of thing, but if I'm paying top dollar for sushi, with a nice view, and I'm on a special date, I like for the service to be at least decent.
My best guess is that they originally were trying for "layed back" and "fun" service (which doesn't match the rest of the atmosphere), but they have quickly and deeply sunk to "lazy and unapologetically inattentive". It's quite strange to see the servers all hanging out around the open "kitchen", chit chatting and ignoring your third request for more saki.

I love that place. Try to get there before sunset and request a window table if you can. I am sure there is better sushi in town but the atmosphere is second to none.

It's a little pricey...but then again...with the exception of sushi buffets, pretty much all sushi is overpriced. Tsunami is not that much more expensive than anywhere else I get sushi at...rolls are good too. Book it if you can.

Sea bass roll and Green Monster roll are highly recommended.
