He's is a fan just like us. To be honest they can keep thinking les is a buffoon and lucky. The truth is bama got every bounce this season to make that game, but it wasn't luck in their part? Bama gets a mulligan, but LSU was lucky? Complete bullshite thinking on urs and any sports fans part.

No damn offensive line. You try to throw the ball under those damn conditions?

I think why so many people can't get this behind them is because they aren't convinced Miles realizes any mistakes were made.

No protection was only a half-truth. A decent quarterback that could throw the ball down the field to present a semblance of a balanced offense would have slowed down that Bama rush. It's really hard to block 9 guys stacked at the line of scrimmage.

They tried to throw the ball downfield in the first game and it produced nothing but interceptions. It was pick your poison against that defense all year and people need to accept this.

I can't believe there are people in this thread practically saying we had no chance that night.

Are you fricking kidding me? We were #1 in the nation and undefeated and had already beat them. We might as well have not played the game according to some of you. Of course their defense was dominate, but had we thrown them some unexpected wrinkles I guarantee you we would have moved the ball.

No one is saying that. Both teams had the same blueprint for victory because of the excellence on defense from both sides. Alabama and LSU both had to win field position/turnovers to try and manufacture points. Both defenses were too good to just move the ball on with any consistency. It was going to take breaks to get a short field.

Alabama moved the ball pretty well actually. They couldn't get in the end zone (again), but they were moving the ball. Why? Because they did something we didn't expect. They used TR less and let McCarron throw more.

This is correct. Game plan not the same, just couldn't execute the one they implemented.

Doesn't give anyone a pass but it does show those who keep screaming about the same gameplan don't know what the frick they are talking about

I dont know what game some people were watching.

Running the damn option over and over was the gameplan.

I keep seeing/hearing this. Are people talking the traditional option or including the read option stuff?

champagne you are the fool. yes we got out coached but it is easy to get out coached when you stop coaching the game and not using your resources. everyone knows bama was fired up did not want to lose two in the same season but we will never know what we really could do because of miles. eight games through the season mettenberger was one play from being the starter on this team. only an idiot would say we never had a chance and did not use all our resources.

I think just about everyone agrees including Les Miles.

And so, therefore...?

If it occurs to a lot of us that it is a BIG mistake to use the same plan twice against Sabama, was it not also possible that *CLM might have had a few second thoughts on that same topic before actual game-time? Or during game-time?

Wait... no, he didn't think of it until after the game was over. He said so.

What is your objective here? You are still talking about a bad game? The only loss of the season. We beat Bama once and won the sec championship. Who gives a shite anymore about this? We are loaded and we will beat Bama next year and have a great program! It is dumb arse posts like this that run off potential recruits and feed into all the people that want to destroy this program. Shut the frick up about it or join the anti LSU propaganda machine called ESPN!

Here are the yardage stats against Bama last year.

Kent St - 90 yds - 7 pts
Penn St - 251 yds - 11 pts
N. Texas - 169 yds - 0 pts
Ark - 226 yds - 14 pts
Fla - 222 yds - 10 pts
Vandy - 190 yds - 0 pts
Ole Miss - 141 yds - 7 pts
Tenn - 155 yds - 6 pts
LSU - 239 yds - 9 pts
Miss St - 131 yds - 7 pts
Ga St - 341 yds - 21 pts
Auburn - 140 yds - 14 pts
LSU - 2 - 92 yds - 0 pts

We did manage to do better than Kent St in the BCS and that's it.

The fact is coach Jethro did not have the team mentally ready for the game. Coach Jethro got caught up in his own celebrity. Bammy was totally focused on the game.

the defense gave up too many yards to Alabama's offense and got behind in the field position battle all game.
If you think about what is implied here, think of the 3 and outs by JJ and the punchless, predictable, one-dimensional offense we kept throwing at their defense. Not using all the weapons available to us only made it easy for Alabama's excellent defense to look even larger than life. Our coach chose to let many of our weapons ride the bench, many of our practiced plays go unplayed. Too afraid to lose, I guess...

Would say something, but last time I criticized CLM was sent private message to let 01/09/12 go.
