Good tip - they had these plastic coils just above the hook, but then you had to jam the hook back up into it, which put the hook at a weird angle.....

I should add for context that this was a lake in Thailand - no Wal Mart around to go buy worms or any additional stuff/bait.

The Thais were pulling these enormous (Mekong) catfish out, but we only caught one all day (around 15 lbs I'd guess, a baby compared to the others we saw....)

Was hoping someone had the technique down for what ratio to mix between water and flour (I think it may have been a cornmeal/flour mix or something.....) or something

Does better if you keep it really cold. And u can mix in a little vaseline to hold it together better and keep it from softening so much in the water. Crisco works good too.
Prefer chicken livers though.
