I thinking of those that we really had a chance of signing, were from LA, or were from most indications seriously considering LSU.

For example, Joe McKnight - great talent and had he come to LSU no doubt would have made some plays. But I don't ever recall thinking "wow, if only Joe McKnight had come here he would have made a difference in this game." I never missed him.

Don't think the LSU staff offered. I don't even think he was very highly recruited in the region and was projected at WR. He took his services to SDSU.

LSU and everyone else wanted him at DB. San Diego State was his only offer at RB.

Not LA guys, but Justin Hunter and Mike Davis are both elite receivers who were committed to us for several months. It's tough to say if Darron Thomas would have been a star at LSU, but I bet he would have been a significant upgrrade over Lee and Jefferson. And who knows what our odds on Trent Richardson really were, but Big Sam thought he as coming to us on national signing day.

Among the LA guys since 2004 or so, only Janzen really looked great, but he obviously had a ton of problems off the field.

Going back to the Hallman/Dinardo years, Dunn, Wayne, and Reed are the guys who really come to mind, but I can understand why they chose elite out of state programs while LSU was down. Kevin Faulk was the exception to the rule in those days.

Marshall Faulk- Curly Hallman would have been in Baton Rouge for another 3-4 years

Joe McKnight- LSU would have won the BCS Title in'07

Janzen Jackson- Ware, Simon, & Mathieu wouldn't have been using synthetic shite

Yeah, have to agree here.

Davis wasn't very good this year.

In these types of discussions, M Faulk is the biggest case of 20/20 hindsight. He went to San Diego Freaking State If everyone "knew" what type of RB he would be he probably would have been at Miami.

Dunn was a top RB prospect, but frankly, he needed to get away, that's one recruit I'm glad we lost.
