Whaaa...I give up. I guess it's a coincidence that Bama has a projected five first round picks this season. And I guess Brockers and Mo didn't help to make us elite in 2011.
So you think Bama was better than us by a 5:2 ratio?
Here's what I'll say: the concept that first round draft picks don't help make a college football team elite is so incorrigibly stupid and indefensible that I refuse to argue it.
In fact, this whole thread is like a traipse through a Kafkaesque labyrinth of dried dog feces. The original poster wanted to demonstrate that stars were "meaningless" and hence posted a list of 2008 recuits. That list contains only one first round draft pick - the lone five star to play for LSU, thereby proving the exact opposite of what the original poster intended. His list actually tends to show the predictive value of star ratings.
Sometimes all I can do is shake my head. People will go to any lengths just to avoid admitting that the class isn't superlative.

so you're saying that the fact that half of our current starting offensive line being under rated by rivals doesn't prove the point i set out to make?
you sir are obviously a genius

Obviously. You just made a point in another thread along the lines of things not being black and white.

That's not the way I saw it. I thought he was alluding to the "black and white" thing.

I still don't know where you're getting this. Please direct me to some of these posts. I enjoy a good laugh.
