You wanna know why Mingo ran him down? Not because Mingo has better straigh line speed. That is foolish thinking. It's because of Brokers and Logan. They had all the gaps stuffed and LMJ hesitated. He even said it himself.
Come on, man. I think everyone knows this. Anyone who says this is either fricking with you or has an extra chromosome.

Dude I really don't care, go talk to Herbie if you need to let it out so bad, he was the one who blew his load when Mingo ran him down. I know Mingo is one of the fastest dlinemen in the country, as he should be since he weighs like 230.
And whoever gave LMJ his current draft grade probably knows he's really fast. Him running a 4.2 when everyone thinks he runs a 4.3 isn't going to really affect his draft status. He kind of is what he is.
An example of a guy who can improve his stock with a great 40 is Michael Floyd. A big bodied WR who showed the ability to get some separation in college but doesn't necessarily look fast.

Posted by bisonduck 4.2 at the combine. Please don't shoot the messenger. If so, where do you think goes in the draft?
What's your opinion of what he will run at the COMBINE and where he gets drafted?

There were no gaps. The play was a designed run to that outside. The Left Tackle runs straight to block TM7, and the RT leaves the left end of the defense unblocked. This is a solid play because you let the LE take himself out of the play by not blocking him.... most of the time. James should have out-run him, but Mingo got an incredible jump on the play and ran him down.
This is a 7-8 yard gain if Mingo doesn't catch him.

Why do oregon fans have such a raging hard-ons for 40 times and getting 1 or 2 4 star commitments????

If he runs a 4.1, I think he's a first rounder. JMHO.

He has got his weight at 195 and 4% body fat.
At 195, he seems pretty maxed out frame-wise. The question NFL scouts, coaches, and GMs will wonder is how well his frame at 195 lbs will hold up to an NFL beating. They'll look at his medical history and if he's gotten injured in college, they'll conclude that he'll get injured in the NFL. Now he has speed but teams are moving toward a more RBBC approach. Under that line of thinking, he'd be a third down/change of pace back.
Would you spend a 1st or 2nd round pick on a quasi-backup running back? Especially with the success of undrafted running backs? He'll go in the 3rd round probably, but I could easily be wrong. It only takes one team to make someone a 1st round draft pick.

Hopefully they cart him out of the combine for another elbow injury.
Who the hell gets carted away for an arm injury? Walk off the field like a man.

Such proclamations never end well.
Look, there are very, very few legit 4.3s, let alone 4.2s...

Then I guess Mingo will run a 4.1

I know the play, dude. It was set up nicely and against most defenses (like Wisconsin) the backside pursuit doesn't get to him. In this game LMJ was running timid. He even said after the game that he was thinking way too much.
