He won't be shooting yet. I probably won't let him take that on until he is 9 or 10. He still has a lot to learn about gun safety but it's something that we are working on.

I just want him to go and experience it right now.
I never duck hunted growing up and actually introduce my dad to it in highschool. I had friends that introduced me.

Same thing for me except my dad went a few times with buddies, never was a hardcore fella always had to work.

My son is 4 and I've taken him a couple times this year. One was a gadwall massacre standing on the banks of the slough behind the house. It was 20 minute fast paced hulling (me w/ a shotgun, him w/ a red rider) and then it was over. He thought it was awesome. The other hunt was in the blind at the camp and it was fairly slow. He got bored after about 2 hours, so I took him in. Once they start getting bored I think it's best to take em in. You don't want to burn them out. Good luck
