Bama is our main competition year in and out and that game along will determine SEC and national titles.

The only question that needs to be asked after each recruiting season is did we get better than Bama with this class?

This year is a resounding, NO.

With that being said, LSU has enough talent to survive one bad recruiting year and remain elite.

If we have another similar class next year, it is officially time to really start to worry IMO. We need a Top 5 class next year in order to remain an elite program, particularly given what we will likely lose to the draft after next season.

True statement ... and not to write yet another Saban vs. Miles thread... but look at it.

LSU is the ONLY team to beat Bama under Saban more than once... and Les has a decent shot at making it 4 out of 7 (in 5 years) in 2012.

Looking closer at the games since Saban arrived at Bama...

2007 - LSU wins at Bama
2008 - Bama wins in BR but in OT --- Bama does not lose an SEC regular season game
2009 -- Bama wins at Bama --- LSU leads in the 4th quarter however loses players to injury and there are questionable calls that work against LSU. Again Bama does not lose an SEC game.
2010 - LSU wins in BR
2011 - LSU wins at Bama in OT and does not lose an SEC season game
2012 - BCS game --- Bama wins in NOLA

Of the 6 games - they are split 3 - 3 and all except the BCS game might have gone either way.

Looking at Bama's record vs. all of the SEC in those seasons... LSU fans should be pretty damn happy that we beat them more than anyone else has... and realistically it could have been at least 1 more, maybe 2.
