not to be a dick, but other than the fact people recognize his name, is there any reason to think he's the best choice?

Not right now. If they hire him, then yes.

I think he could develop DE's, only thing were really missing, not sure if him coming will have to do with him wanting to change to a 3-4, then we will need new linebackers, playing with payton will make his job easy, great hire if we get him

I do seem to recall he's a little blitz happy . . . sort of like . . .
Actually, I think he may very well be a good hire. It just seems people are jumping the gun a bit.

Saints have some good talent on defense, not much, but some players are quality starters. There are also many under performing or young player whom with the correct coaching could reach their potential. At least I am hopeful a fresh face could get some of our players to step up their game.

Good hire if he signs.
Just hoping he will not live and die by one scheme or a defensive tactic like blitzing or man coverage.

See Giants 07' where the entire defense should've been the Super Bowl MVP instead of Eli.

i've seen him called one of the best 4-3 d coordinators in the league...i really hope we interview him and do not let him leave tomorrow without accepting the job.

The thing about Spags, is he is the Anti-Gregg Williams in front of a mic. He is modest and humble and won't be giving any of the same kind of material to print during interviews.

That's great. I use to love GW pressers, but his defense...not so much.
