Just curious if anyone knew whether or not we even have 60-40 in our own backyard.

17,000 tickets to each school
28,500 tickets go to Sugar Bowl season-ticket holders
9,500 to title sponsors, ESPN/ABC and BCS

So what we know is that Bama is guaranteed 17,000 fans in the dome (that is 23% of the dome)

The second possible source of tickets (Sugar Bowl season ticket holders) heavily favors LSU for obvious reasons. Even still, assume that
half of Sugar Bowl season ticket holders are Tiger fans that held onto the tickets (an extremely low estimate) and that the other half of those Sugar Bowl Season ticket holders sold their tickets online to the highest bidder.

Now assume that these sales mirrored the online sales quoted below (and I'm giving Bama all of Florida and Georgia), then Bama would have bought just under 4,000 of those tickets.

("Jennifer Swanson, a spokeswoman for TicketsNow, said 32 percent of its ticket sales have been to Louisiana residents, 15 percent each to Texas and Alabama residents, 8 percent going to Florida and 5 percent to Georgia."
)

Lastly, the Sponsor's tickets. These are difficult to predict. Many of the sponsors are nationwide and Bama has a larger nationwide following. Still, many of the sponsor tickets stay local. Let's call this one 50-50. So that would be 4,750 tickets for Bama from sponsors.

That totals out to 25,750 Bama fans in the Dome, or roughly 36% of the Dome.

If my assumptions are correct, the breakdown in the Dome will be 64-36 in favor of LSU.

I can't see Bama out numbering us, but I drove from Slidell to Metairie this afternoon and every 4th or 5th car that I passed/got passed by, had a Louisiana or random state license plate. The rest were Alabama.

opposing fan base always wins the numbers game in the days leading up to the game. new orleans is exotic to everyone but lsu fans.

100% chance we will have multiple threads about gumps winning the quarter.

100% chance lsu wins the dome

LSU ended up getting more than that, they had a 2nd release on 12/28. Not sure who they got the tickets from, but it was linked to buying a pair of Sugar Bowl tickets.

This is a pretty fricking good milkshake. I don't know if it's worth five dollars, but it's pretty fricking good.

Translation: good post.
