Been produced out of Wisconsin for a while. I think way before Katrina happened.

Cannot beleive it is still around. It used to be the nastiest stuff when I was in school. Would buy Bush before Dixie

They were still using the New Orleans facility up until Katrina. In additional to being flooded out most of the equipment including their copper tank were looted.

Apparently Heiner Brau in Covington couldn't keep up with the demand after Katrina for their beer and Dixie so they stopped producing it and that is when the deal with the WI company started. It's brewed by a company called Minhas.

I do know that Heiner Brau is making Zea beer now. Maybe once the new brewery opens in Mandeville Dixie will be able to strike a deal with them. I would imagine that shipping Dixie form WI to their core market isn't a great long-term business plan due to freight costs.
