Just got some waders for Christmas and they were way too big. Gonna opt for a much smaller size even though I wear a szie 10 shoe. My question is: Do you guys wear a jacket underneath or on top of your waders? Thanks

I wear hip boots, but if I had waders I'd have to put the jacket underneath the waders.

Wear the coat outside of the waders.Put a belt around the waders as a safety measure if you go down. Question, with waders "over" a coat how would one access his coat pockets? I'm 50, I've been duck hunting since I was 10, and I've yet to see anyone with their coat tucked into a set of waders.

95% of the time my jacket is outside my waders for a few reasons.

1. I can utilize the pockets on my coat.
2. Its easier to take off

But the main reason is so that in case it rains the water won't go down my waders.
