Gun Cabinets....anybody know of a talented cabinet maker/ wood worker ?

I want him to make a nice mahogany or cypress gun cabinet that can fit 8-10 guns, drawers for ammo and some pistol storage/ display....thanks in advance...

We just made a whole dam closet in our house our "gun room"


has a lock on it which is the same as the house key to keep little kids out during christmas and all. our carpenter did all the wood work

I'm gonna start on mine myself after the season. I've framed houses my whole life. This will be my first venture into furniture work. Pretty confident I can handle it.

I'll do yours cost plus 25% if u want

That place looks perfect.... Ill call them today. Some of that reclaimed cypress looks tight !!!

Do you have a plan on the type of joinery you will use? Full length box joints I think would look good an emulate the old style ammo cases. Another option would be half-blind dovetails. Both I think would look great.

If you need the lumber and are in the NOLA area go to Riverside Lumber. They have all kinds of exotic wood and can reccomend a carpenter to you.

I am assuming you live in diamondhead so this is not such a bad drive. Riverside is off of Downman Rd in NO east.

I know a guy who does that kind of stuff. He's very good at it, but it would probably be over a year before he got to your project.

Ever talk to them? I let them know some guy from mississippi needed a gun cabinet made.
