As I've said before, he isn't liberal enough for me. Guantanamo remaining open is a gross violation of a campaign promise. His stance towards marijuana isn't as proactive as it should be. That's just the start. As I've also said before, I sincerely hope he institutes a much more progressive agenda in his second term.

What are your thoughts on his campaign lies about Bush tax cuts and repealing the Patriot Act?

im not sure what polling data you're looking at but all the credible ones have it as a virtual dead heat

The former was the victim of political expediency, the latter is inexcusable.

Strange definition of effective. Also a strange definition of accomplishments.

Good point. When he has to resort to a ficticious number of jobs created and "saving the US auto industry" as his "accomplishments" then you have to wonder how effective he has been.

Now, I will agree if by effective the poster means increasing the size and scope of the government and government dependency, thereby securing democrat voting bases for generations, I will agree wholeheartedly. I suppose it is all about perspective.

I would also like to see Obama come out more in favor of personal liberty. I'd like to see him get rid of the Patriot Act, be more friendly towards marijuana, close Guantanamo, and come out more strongly in favor of marriage equality.

Me too.

But I'd also like to spend a few nights with Katy Perry and I have a much better chance of that happening.

Upgraded from 60% to 80%. Romney hasn't held a lead in a composite of reputable national polls since he became the presumptive nominee. He's farther behind in swings.

And, just to put this out there, he seems to be running a shitty campaign.

its a virtual tie with an incumbent polling under 50%...not good for team Obama

He's leading in CO and FL

We've had some shite going on here for the past week or so. This is my first non 14-hour day since last Monday. I was due, I guess.

I appreciate your concern, though.

Agree. But this really feels like 2004. Crappy President who has no respect for civil liberties, spends money we don't have, and creates massive entitlement programs. Challenger is a rich flip-flopper from Massachusetts who isn't likable.

Which is why I won't comment. I was stationed at AFRICOM during Odyssey Dawn and probably ran my mouth more than I should have (no secrets, but too much opinion).

I was at OPNAV and banned for the Gulf Oil Spill, and wanted to comment on that temporary board so bad

was way too busy during Odyssey Dawn and whatever the Japan evac/relief mission's name was to say anything dumb

re: Percent Chance Obama Wins in 2012 (Updated 11/5/12)

Update Time: October 22, 2012...

Since the last set of predictions, three debates have taken place, 2 presidential, 1 VP...Romney decisively won the first debate and held his own in the second, seemingly turning the momentum.

I am not overly confident that things have changed as drastically as it currently appears, but I think one would be foolish to believe that Romney's chances at winning are not at an all-time high right now.

I still think that Obama likely wins Ohio and I think Florida will be really close as well.

However, I am bumping his chances, IMO, of winning way down to about 55% right now...slightly better than a toss up based on Ohio (I realize some polls have Obama trailing in OH...I'll believe it when I see it).

What percentage chances are you placing on the race now and how has it changed over the course of the year in this thread?
