this random drunk at the bar after my company christmas party was running his meat smoker w/ this foolishness, and people were agreeing w/ him!

there's a line from the Dan Jenkins book Semi-Tough that i like to drag out at moments like this "What could have happened, DID." Bama couldn't get closer, Saban chose to kick from beyond his kicker's reliable range, and LSU won. all stats eventually lead to that truth.

this reminds me so much of the UGA rematch in 2003. right down to the missed field goals in the first game. except for the fact that UGA actually earned their way into the SECCG.

I am pretty sure Les Miles said we didn't win anything Nov. 5th. We did however advance to the SEC championship because of it and that is what Les Miles was talking about.

We won the SEC championship against Georgia so the Nov. 5th game didn't win us anything but we did win the SEC because of it and Alabama didn't because of it.

Also we are in the NC game in part because of that win. Those are the facts.

By the time 9 Jan rolls around, the entire country, except for LSU fans, will tell you that LSU did not really beat Bama on 5 Nov. The reason for that is because the mediea amplification of that meme will be overwhelming and repeated very often. That meme will be drummed into everybody's head very thoroughly by 9 Jan. Hell, even some LSU fans may begin to believe it.
