JJ game plan vs. Georgia (key to victory?)

This is my only concern with Bama.
I think it was very apparent that the throw first game plan we had early in the SECC was not for the team we were playing but more the team will will be playing.
Obviously we will have to throw the ball sucessfully against Bama and Miles/Kraggs/Stud were trying to put JJ in a position to run off the pass, and it was ugly. However JJ is better than that game, and he will need to step the shite up if we want to beat Bama again. I beleive if he can put up around 150 yrds. just to keep Bama from stacking, we roll.

I rewatched the game yesterday and I'm not sure I agree with you. I just trust we will come out ready to play and not flat as it appeared in the SECCG. To get behind Bama would not be advised. With all that said, I do believe this Tiger team is destined and bring home the victory. I like this Damn Strong Football Team and I like our chances. The greatest team I have witnessed in watching for over 35 years.

if your assessment is correct there is a lot of work to be done before NC game
You can bet Saban will be as ready as Richt was

I do agree, us being flat had the most to do with it, but I've haven't seen us attempt to start up a passing game as much as we did against the Dawgs, and I realy believe the coaching staff knows they will need to throw. But all in all I do like our chances Go Tigers

I'ma chalk that first half up to being flat.

If we play the first half against Bama the same way we played UGA, we'll be down 24-0 at half.

Well the post realy didn't have anything to do with how we played against Georgia, but more to do with the play calling. I found it odd we tried to pass early more than we have all season. I was just thinking it was to see how JJ would respond to having to pass. But anyway.

1st. quarter Lsu played to its weakness! We are a rushing team with a great defense! U saw how that turned out when JJ started off passing,. Very poor play calling in the 1st quarter. If we don't start early against bama we will get blown away this time around!

Without a doubt, the biggest reason for our poor performance in the first half Offensively, was because we were flat and our O line was getting beat.... there was no holes and penetration. Even our Def. appeared flat, and would have looked as bad as the Off. if not for 2 UGA dropped passes in the end zone. Now, JJ's horrible passing performance didnt help... we beat Bama the first time without much of a passing game, and probaly could again. But, if we could execute a passing attack; short, quick, two step drops, it would make things much easier on our Off. production..... we also gave them two int's(they were not good plays by the def. but horrible passes), prevent that in the NC, and it looks even better.

Perhaps but how in the world do you come out flat in the SECCG??!?!?!?!?

I don't know if flat would be the right word to describe it- but LSU wasn't as amped as UGA to be there. LSU expected to be there, and had eyes set on Crystal Ball.
They weathered the storm, and then dropped the boom.

I really don't think it was the play calling in the first half of the SECCG. If you remember correctly Randle was wide open on the play action, jj just held on to the ball a little too long and it came out of his hand wrong. It was a good play call just bad execution and I also think the whole team came out a little flat to open the game.

If you look at the stats for each game it shows our play selection is based upon the strengths of the QB. JJ is a weak passer, so we run. When JL was in, early in the season we averaged about 25 pass attempts per game. This average dropped significantly with JJ in. Don't be surprised to see JL come in for some "passing" series in the BCS. Or maybe Miles has been "baiting" bama into thinking we're just going to run and JJ may come out throwing.

When you say "need to throw," what do you mean?
If you watched Alabama play anytime this season on CBS, Gary Danielson always pointed out that the last three (now four) losses that Alabama has had their opponents threw the ball 20 times or fewer. You don't beat Bama by airing the ball out constantly.
Now, some easy completions here and there, some downfield, will make things a lot easier on the running game.

i dont think JL will step foot on the field barring a JJ injury or we are up by 35

This was my observation. The Oline and Dline were getting beat off the ball until approximately mid way through the second quarter. Our QB's passing proved to be subpar as well. Overall, I agree with you, short passes. If we can execute those consistantly, then maybe we begin to stretch the field. But we are a rushing team. Go with what brings you. We have all said the option with JJ and Ford appears to work. But I have also said it before that I think Hilliard will be a difference maker in the BCSCG. Either way, if we play LSU football to our capacity, Tigers get the victory.

miles should use the west virginia approach, short quick passes when throwing to keep defense off balance ,and then run the rock to eat up clock
