The media loves the BCS! The national media has pretty much 24/7 air time to fill. With out the controversy of the BCS what are they going to talk about? If we had a fair play off system they would have tons of dead air time! Controversy sells commercials, especially if they play both sides of the argument.

What is funny to me is that the media/humans hold the majority of the power in the overall BCS system, yet blame the computers every single time they change the unwritten rules to benefit a media darling. I had a long rant about this a week ago:

This is really all you need to know about what is going on, IMHO.
