SBE II (Black Synthetic)= 1099.00 @ Academy
Xtrema 2 (Black Synthetic)= 1199.00 @ Dicks
Talk to me people.
As a background, I've been shooting an M1 Super 90 Montefeltro since 1995 with exactly zero problems. So I'm obviouslly a Benelli guy...
I just want a 3.5 inch semi auto now.

I prefer the low maintenance of a gas operated gun, but there are pros and cons to both. Google it, this argument gets religious with some people.
I own an Extrema & Extrema 2, very few problems between the two even with my negligent cleaning.

I love my X2, but get the one that fits you best, they are both fine guns.

To me I prefer the Xtrema 2. I find it to be the best fitting and smoothest operating out of all the top tier hunting guns. It all comes down to how the gun fits you, when your dealing with Autos in the 1k-1500 range they all are going to shoot extremely well. I find that the forearm on the SBE's is to skinny and narrow. But like I said it all depends on which is more to YOU.

Its really personal preference. I LOVE beretta. I shot the new A400 extreme this weekend. Hands down the baddest fricking shotgun I have ever handled.

The extreme 2 was my first auto loader. I have the kick off model. I love it. No peeling issues on the rubber grips and it cycles every shell I've put in it. I clean it at the end of the season and never have any problems out of it.
I've got friend that shot a Winchester Super x 2 for a long time, got a SBE2 last year. He traded it in for the new beretta. His complaint on the sbe2 was recoil. He speaks highly of the new beretta but I haven't shot it yet. But I can tell you the recoil of my extrema2 is much less than the SBE2.

I have an xtrema 2 and have never had a problem with it. It's as sturdy of a gun as I've held and it just feels "right". It's hard to imagine a better duck gun. It kicks light, and I don't have the kick-off. It's also incredibly simple to take apart.

Browning Maxus>>>SBEII>>>>>>Xtrema2 for me
lightest of the 3 and shouldered better
I shoot everything from 2.75-3.5 with no problems.
